I have an apple imac and experienced the same problem when the sky go app upgraded. I can watch sky go on the imac but now when I airplay to any of the other rooms the screen goes grey. Prior to the upgrade it worked fine. Anyone have a solution to this? Quick question if I may. I've bought my Father an ATV2 for Xmas. He has a iPad 2. He'd really like to be able to stream sky go from the ipad2 to the telly. Is it a all possible with te ATV2? From what I've read, it is poss using the tv out app (jailbreak req'd on ipad) and an apple av cable. Watching the Go app from Sky via Apple TV is also possible as long as your Apple device has an iOS version of 10.1 and above. Just press the Airplay button to. You actually can Airplay Sky Go to the Apple TV. It is true the app won't allow it, I mean to just select AirPlay and let it show on the tv like you would say YouTube but if you mirror your screen and then use the SkyGo app on landscape it will mirror on to the tv in fullscreen via the AppleTV.
Hey guys, hope you can help me out....
I have just moved to university and I have taken my Apple TV with me so just like at home I can stream Sky Go and BT Sport from my iPad to the Apple TV. The issue I am having is bizarre, I get sound playback through the TV but I don't get video playback, I just get this message 'Sorry! Playback is not allowed on the external display'. Other apps like YouTube work correctly and when I'm at home it all works smoothly, I'm just confused as to what I can do to get it to work.
